The 200 Club

The 200 Club derives its name from the number of possible members, i.e. 200.  It was established as a way of raising funds in order to purchase St. Jude’s Hall.  Today the proceeds are put towards the upkeep and maintainance of the premisis.  It is a great way for people to support the society and a chance for its members to win cash prizes throughout the year and has an annual jackpot of £750.  All members are welcome to attend the presentation evening, which includes supper and cabaret entertainment.

The cost of membership is just £20 for the year.  Each member is allocated a set of five 3-digit numbers.  Each month these numbers are then matched to the last three digits of the top prize premium bond number.  For eight months of the year there are five £20 prizes.  In the other four months there is the one prize of £100.  At the end of the year there are two top prizes of £500 and £750.

Membership is open to all members of the society as well as their friends and families.  There is no restriction on the number of memberships a person can buy, other than the limit of 200 total members, thus increasing a person’s chance of winning.  Membership starts in March, but if there are membships remaining, they can be bought at any point during the year.

The presentation evening is held in March.  All members of the 200 Club get free admission, but they are welcome to bring guests at a small charge.  The evening includes supper, entertainment (normally in the form of a cabaret given by Operatic Society members) and the presentation of the two top prizes and the final £100 prize.
